The Purpose of this Forum

• For members to engage in self-reflection and discuss their current practice.
• To create a collaborative culture among the life science educators in my state (South Dakota) and everywhere else!
• To engage in a dialog of what we want our students to know.

Why?

Educators in  PLC’s and Collaborative Communities  benefit from clarity regarding their shared purpose and a common understanding of the school they are trying to create.

Rationale

• Schools cannot help students learn if their educators are in isolation.
• Schools improve when educators work together to clarify essential student learning.
• Teachers talk more frankly about sensitive issues with shich they may not feel comfortable in face-to-face situations.
